One of my fun scenes was taking Duncan shopping. :)

A Full Moon Where Art Thou?
We all know that par for the werewolf and vampire course, we must have the full moon. Which is arriving on Sept 29!
In the first picture I took, the moon was all aglow. In the last picture, my daughter managed to get a great shot of the moon with all the craters on it! But it's too dark. And the night was pure black.
So I brightened it up a bit and placed it over the glowing moon and allowed the pink halo that glowed around the original picture to remain so it would be nice and cloudy. There were some neat "black" tree branches stretched out toward the moon, but when I had to resize the photo for a book cover size, I lost the tree branches. Maybe I'll add them back in.
This is still the cover for Dangerous Liaisons. You see how much work goes into a cover???
It's fun though!
I'm at--Jungle Tour, Anyone? Jesse's Blog
And talking about School Days!
And Dragon Fae is done!!! I'm doing a final read through and it will be off to the publishers!
Have a super great Thursday!!

Red Nails and Lips for a Vampire Huntress?
I'm finishing up Dragon Fae. Got word count!!. But more than that, I'm trying to wrap up all the loose ends and come up with a satisfying ending and then begin the process, AGAIN, of rereading the whole book to revise it again.
Here I've been playing around with coloring the huntress's lips and nails. It suits a vampire book much more, I think. :) I'm thinking of adding something special to one of the nails. Will have to see. :)
My blog stop today is at Paulette's Papers!
And it's a happy hump day!!!
Have a super wonderful day and check out what I'm saying about Savage Hunger--dogs/cats, wolves/cats....
Off to work some more on Dragon Fae, and I left out my faux sack of garbage but the culprit knew it. Anyway, I went to bed so I'm sure I wouldn't have caught any action anyway!

The Shifters Live Among Us!
Second day of the tour and you'll find me here as Sharon Buchbinder's blog!
The Shifters Live Among Us!
I've been playing around with this photo to make a book cover for Dangerous Liaisons, vampire romance, so here is one of the before pictures...blue gray background, strange eyes, colorless lips...stay tuned.
Okay, I need a shifter to protect me!
Something has been going bump in the night around my bedroom window. I have a big planter next to the wall, no cracks between it and the house, yet one night I went outside to see what it was that was making such a racket, it sounded like it was behind the bed!
Nothing.
Back up a week or so ago, and I put my garbage out on the front porch, planning to take it to the road the next morning. It had chicken packages and they can smell really bad. Every watch Labyrinth? Well, everytime I smell something bad like this, I think of that movie and the Bog of Eternal Stench. LOL :) "It smells BAD."
About a year ago, I quit putting out my garbage can because the wind would blow it into the culdesac which is about 5 feet deep, and it was dark when I'd get home from work, and I'd be running late for work in the morning--writing, blogging, you know, the usual--and so I started doing what my neighbors do. Just put out the bag.
Well, we have no dogs, no cats, the place is all farm fields, few houses. And something got into my garbage. I'd forgotten to get my mail, so here I am going out at ten that night, see the garbage everywhere, and grab my mail, then try to stuff the garbage back into the very ripped up bag.
I'm thinking, DNA samples from culprit--if it was a wolf or a jaguar, he's on my bad side.
I had aluminum foil on the ground that I'd used to cook the chicken on and when I went to pick up the foil pieces, they were crawling with fireants. Okay, forget picking up the stuff in the dark. I'd do it in the morning. That meant I couldn't bring in the ruined sack either. It would be full of fireants also.
So I put the bag on the top of the planter. Now, It's about 4 feet tall or taller.
And the next morning, I was going to clean up the mess, put it in another sack, and guess what?
The sack of garbage is on the DRIVEWAY.
Spooky music here.
I've NEVER seen a raccoon. Skunks, yes. So I figure it was a skunk. But a skunk couldn't have climbed into the planter. It's too tall. And it has straight brick sides so nothing for it to use to climb up into the planter. Plus I had set the sack far enough back that a skunk couldn't have reached up and grabbed it and pulled it down.
Then one morning, I was having a nightmare about some outerspace story and this man had a gas mask on because something really bad was leaking all over the place, but I was dying because I didn't have a mask and the smell was something..like the Bog of Eternal Stench.
I woke up because it was skunk! Right next to the bedroom wall.
So, do I have skunks living in my walls????
But still, how did they get into the planter?
Did I mention to you that I live in a jungle out here???
Have a great time and see what I have to say about The Shifters Live Among Us, just in case you didn't think they did!!!

Eye on Savage Hunger
If you look really closely at the eye, you can see she's got an eye on
Savage Hunger! I was trying to learn how to change eye color in eyes! I
did play around with it and I didn't do what it was supposed to! But it kind of did. :) This was Silaynne's original eye.
Silaynne has some neat tutorials on how to do it.
Anyway! I'll keep playing around with it another day! Have to keep writing.
But I used a different technique to change the eye color, made it a little more visible in Dragon Fae....She has very pretty pale green eyes. I didn't want to change that to a bright green, but wanted to make her green eyes stand out a little more. :)
Only 13,000 words to go!!!
I had ARCs of A Howl for a Highlander come in last night, that I didn't realize were sitting next to my front door and figured I'd put out the call on Facebook to see if any reviewers wanted a copy to review, and voila! Within an hour, they were all asked for. I was shocked!!! First, that I got any copies, and 2nd that they went that fast!!!!
I'm so glad everyone is having fun with the wolves!
I expected to be getting requests for days until they were all gone. Shows what I know!
Now I've got to run out to get envelopes to ship them in. I could have sworn I bought two bundles of them, but I probably used all those already!
And...I have to say that about the man who jumped into the tiger's zoo pen--yikes!!!! Was it really worth it?
In my books I talk about the shifters becoming one with their shifter halves, but hey they ARE shifters. So they can do that!
I don't recommend anyone getting that close to a big cat!!! With wolves, which is why I never can understand that people make the comments that wolves will kill people because they don't, cougars and bears do, and tigers and lions do...(jaguars don't)...but you just don't want to pet the big cats. Or bears.
Okay, off to write and then I have to run into town for envelopes.
Have a nice Sunday and remember...if you are not a shifter, and even if you are--a werewolf or jaguar shifter don't belong in a tiger's pen...don't try to pet the big cat. Get a little one.
Or get them in my books. They're hunky and very safe. :)

Hug a Highland Hunk!
It's time for a Highland blog hop. Are you all ready?
In our oral history, the MacNeill is the underdog of the story. Malcolm fell in love with Elizabeth Campbell, the daughter of the Duke of Argyle. He was a lowly commoner working for the family. Ironically, the MacNeill clan name has to do with the proud MacNeills and Malcolm was that. He took Lady Elizabeth and their two small sons and new baby daughter to what they thought was the Carolinas. They'd paid for passage there. There was some notion that he had family there.
But the MacDonald captain, whose brother owned land and needed it settled in Prince Edward Island, and their father who happened to be the reverend over the church in the Highlands who encouraged parishioners to leave Scotland for the promised land, meant the Highlanders ended up in PEI. So the story goes.
Because of the harsh weather and no home or places to even buy supplies, the Highlanders suffered. Lady Elizabeth died leaving her 3 young children behind while Malcolm couldn't care for them. The baby daughter was raised by the Ramseys and the youngest boy by the Taylor family. The older son may have stayed with his father. We are directly descended from the youngest boy.
So in my MacNeill stories, I want them to find happily ever after...and so they do!
Beginning with Winning the Highlander's Heart.
I have two copies of this book, the older version of the cover, for two lucky commenters.
Countess Anice vows to flee the amorous advances of King Henry I, and return to her home in the Highlands, where she hopes to find a laird to wed. Highlander Laird Malcolm MacNeill, seeking an English bride, becomes entangled with the Scottish lass while trying to find out why her staff has vanished.
This is actually an Irish castle, but I had to share. I love Celtic castles!
The Accidental Highland Hero continues the story of the MacNeill family!

Lady Eilis Dunbarton’s life undergoes a drastic change
with the death of her cousin, Agnes. Now she’s faced with the
disagreeable prospect of marrying the man who was to be her cousin’s
husband. Not by a change of contract, though. Instead, by
deceit—pretending to be her cousin. But if her husband-to-be discovers
she’s not really Agnes, her life is forfeit. So what choice does Eilis
have but to flee? When Laird James MacNeill’s clan rescues a
half-drowned lass from the sea, there is speculation she is of the enemy
clan, especially since she doesn’t remember her own name. James is
immediately enticed with the lady, but his focus must remain on finding
the proper bride. For if he does not wed soon, he must give up his
holdings to one of his younger brothers. Focus slips away with each
day Eilis is close, and James finds himself contemplating the thought of
taking her to wife without knowing her true identity. But how
dangerous would the end result be? And what will happen if Eilis’s
husband-to-be comes looking for her only to find her in the arms of
another man?
And I'm working on the third book in the series:
Highland Rake. Dougald is such a rake! Though he believes others, his brothers and cousin in particular, have made him out to be the scapegoat concerning these rumors, when they are just as bad as he is!
But then there are rumors that some of the MacNeill clan have some other kinds of secrets. Gray wolf roots, maybe?
And it all started with this guy! Ian MacNeill. :)
It's a matter of pride...
Modern day werewolf laird Ian MacNeill reluctantly allows a film production company to use his castle, but he knows his secretive clan has a big problem when a beautiful red werewolf female who insists she's working on the film keeps showing up in the wrong places... and a matter of pleasure...
Julia Wildthorn is not who she says she is-she's sneaking into Argent Castle to steal an ancient relic for her grandfather and to do research for her next werewolf romance novel. When she catches a glimpse of Ian, she realizes he's the perfect hero...

My Desk! By Terry Spear
Note, no one is facing the camera! We've got the tail end of one wolf puppy, and both the other wolf puppies are looking in the opposite directions. And not one is looking at the camera!
What does this tell you? How unobservant they are!
Okay, so, there's my fancy pants magnifying glass to the right. No, I don't use it. It's just for class. I mean as in it makes me look like I have class. LOL To the left is my cup of green tea. And my writer's block mug full of pens, which I do use.
My daughter got after me because I always have pens all over my desk, and this is from a kid who is not a neat nick! :)
A friend sent me this mug, so I put my pens in there to prove one thing. I DO NOT have writer's block.
I refuse to have it. Even when I'm stuck!
I've got to work on a bear order--have another guest blog to do and 2 more interviews. I've had 2 emergency blogs to do. I have the most blogs to do this next month and the end of the month than I've ever done!!
And I made it over halfway on Dragon Fae. I worked on the cover again, and so here 'tis!
Okay, really off to work on the bear and on writing!!! Have a super great Thursday!!! :)

Rain and the Crescent Moon!
When we have snow, which is rarely! I take pictures. So with 3 days of rain, I had to take a picture. You know, for posterity sake in case we don't get anymore. The weeds next to the jasmine planter are as a direct result of the rain! I could pull them up!!! :)
Then last night we had a glowing orange crescent moon. I had to share! It was hanging so low in the sky that it looked like it was about to touch the green lights on poles beneath it. Those are tall poles, but still...it was clinging to a black velvet night and I had to capture it!
I'm off to write! I'll show you a picture of my workspace tomorrow and then after that, Friday, I'll be giving away books on the Highland blog hop!
This just in from Long and Short Reviews!
Savage Hunger by Terry Spear

As a jaguar he is graceful and gorgeous...
Speedy and stealthy...
Fierce, independent, and wild...
As a man he is passionate and powerful...
Willful and wonderful...
And he'll stop at nothing to protect what's his... Savage Hunger leaves a reader hungering for more of this awesome and exciting new world that Ms. Spear has created. The author has written a story with a lovable heroine, an alpha hero who’s not obnoxious or overbearing, and a fun sister to tag along and complicate Connor’s life. The food they eat is exotic although the eating establishments are earthy, and they spend more time using trees than Tarzan. This new series is exhilarating and filled with rich and vibrant descriptions to make a reader feel like they’re in the thick of the Amazon jungle. There are moments of humor, of tenderness and pure hot loving. In short, Savage Hunger has the best of all the elements that make readers of paranormal romances happy. Dark and Stormy--Yay!
It was a dark and stormy night when she heard a shriek from off in the distance. No, not in the distance. Her own voice. Here...a shriek of shock. No. Of delight! Rain!!!
This is what it looked like at about 4 this yesterday afternoon. Delightful! And chilly? Oh, I love it!!!
Okay, in A Howl for a Highlander, I have Duncan preparing a meal or two. So here he is keeping me company while I prepared a spaghetti dinner, fresh tomatoes, fresh bell peppers, red, green, yellow, mushrooms, hamburger, tomato sauce, lemon pepper seasoning, garlic salt, and Italian spices, basil.
And Duncan. :) I can't remember what he fixed for the she-wolf...omelets, at least once. :)
Do the men in your life cook? My dad loved to. My brother-in-law also. And my son. So all the males in my life have and I think it's great that they can cook for us sometimes. Don't you?

Redressing My Hero and Heroine--Need Cover Opinion

I needed to change the color of his kilt because he's a MacNeill and it's primarily blue. I kept thinking her skirt looked too modern, so I made it blue to match his sash and kilt. :) Then I changed out the color on her blouse to make it all one color. I like the contrast, but the women didn't wear blouses and skirts like that so if I made it a uniform color with her skirt, it might look a tiny more authentic. What do you all prefer in a cover. Which would catch your eye more?
The smaller version is what you'll see on the book sale sites.

Original cover
Dougald MacNeill takes Lady Alana Cameron to his laird brother
James's Craigly Castle when he finds her roaming the heather on the MacNeill
lands. But who has sent her there and why? Her uncle, laird of the Cameron clan,
and warring with the MacNeill for years, has made a marriage arrangement with
another clan and now that is even at stake.
Having witnessed her father's death, and even believing he had
returned her home when all along he had been dead, Alana discovers she has the
gift, or curse, of seeing the newly departed and sometimes those who should have
long ago passed over. Her own deceased brother continues to plague her, the
rake, and now another, who is very much of the flesh, Dougald MacNeill, has her
thinking marrying a rake might just have its benefits. Dougald's sister, who is
one fiesty ghost, has offered to help Alana keep Dougald in line if he thinks of
even straying.
But who sent Alana on a fool's errand in the first place to
remove her from the Cameron's lands and set her squarely in Dougald's care, and
who really killed her father and her brother, and what has it all to do with
Alana? Will she and Dougald learn the truth before it is too late?
Lady Eilis Dunbarton’s life undergoes a drastic change with the death of her cousin, Agnes. Now she’s faced with the disagreeable prospect of marrying the man who was to be her cousin’s husband. Not by a change of contract, though. Instead, by deceit—pretending to be her cousin. But if her husband-to-be discovers she’s not really Agnes, her life is forfeit. So what choice does Eilis have but to flee?

finding the proper bride. For if he does not wed soon, he must give up
his holdings to one of his younger brothers.

Eilis is close, and James finds himself contemplating the thought of

Off to write! I'm hoping to reach 30K on Highland Rake today and get back to Dragon Fae and add some more to it! I did do 4 blogs and added 3,000 words to Highland Rake and had to water yesterday.
Everything is burning up! When are we going to get some rain??? I had to write it in Highland Rake. I'm sorry I drenched my poor characters, but I was wishing for it so hard, I hoped...well, maybe writing about it would make me feel better. Not them. Just me. :)
Have a super great TGIF!!!!

Should We Say No to Guest Posts?
There is the destination. The castle. Will we make it? That's where we will find safety from all the bad stuff out there. All the warring clans. All the bandits looking to earn a living. All the...well, bad stuff out there.
We move toward the light to see what's out there, taking the narrow stone steps that have been there forever. That hundreds of people over the centuries have walked up.Thousands more that haven't ever lived there.
What has any of this got to do with should we say no to guest posts?
I'm behind again. LOL :)
You see how ridiculously late I am on writing this post? I was writing another guest post blog, and have two more to do today. It's bugging me. I keep saying yes. I can't help myself. I want to get the word out! What word? Lots of words. But I want to say something different! And I'm running out of different things to say.
Not really. That's the problem with being a writer. I have way too much to say. Whether anyone wants to hear me say it or not. :)
When I should be writing on Silence of the Wolf, or Highland Rake, or Dragon Fae.
I did get to 10,500 on Dragon Fae yesterday!
I have to remind myself:
Promo=word gets out about Savage Hunger's release to different people.
Promo=not being able to write on upcoming books--which is what readers are always waiting for, right?
Promo=exploring issues I don't usually explore, so really, having some fun, too.
You know how we have to look deeply into our characters to find what they're made of? Well sometimes that means looking into our own.
I know, I'm getting profound again. But really...what makes us tick? Why do we write about what we do?
I love plants, the forest, the water. I love writing about them. Playing in them. Being one with nature. With writing my stories, I can share this love with readers.
So, even though I feel badly that I have to stop and write tons of guest blog posts that can take away from my writing THE BOOK, I do love writing the posts and sharing something of my quirky world.
Two more to go today, and then it's time to write A BOOK!!! Whichever characters give me the most trouble, I'm writing about them first!
Have a super great Thursday!
And what do you think? Should I say NO???

The Full Moon--Summer in Texas
Full moons are necessary for werewolf lore, but not for jaguar shifters! Here is the full moon the other night. I never can figure out how to use my camera to get a really good shot. The other night it was cloudless and without a really good camera lens that can take distant shots, it really doesn't do anything for you. But with the glow of the moon on the clouds, I think it's pretty cool.
Enjoy the full moon while you can. All the crazies are out and about until the next time! And like Donna said in the comment, which I totally forgot about when I was blogging, this is a BLUE MOON, the second moon in August.

The Ancient Fae is NOW in Print!

Print book:

Princess Ritasia misses the adventure of getting her brother and cousins out of trouble, but when the hawk fae king arrives to court her, she becomes involved in trouble nothing like she's ever faced before.
The hawk fae king, Tiernan, must find a bride, but being a tyrant king, or so his people believe, he must find a woman who would help him to change his people's view of how he and his queen shall rule. Princess Ritasia isn't anything like what he'd envision his queen would be like. Rough and tumble, unafraid of danger, and speaking her mind, the lady might just be the one for him.
The princess believes the king is a tyrant, at least at times. But she discovers he's not all that he seems, and she wants to learn even more. The problem is that Ritasia stumbles across an ancient queen's magical artifact and nothing will ever be the same between her people, his, and what is dug up at the ancient fae dig site.

I had to work on the cover for The Ancient Fae to create a print copy. So while I was at it...I know, I was supposed to be writing, but I decided I needed to take a day off and get caught up on other stuff, like updating my website and all! ...do I sound guilty, or what???
But while I was messing around with covers, I redid The Siren's Lure and

As you can see some of the covers haven't still been changed on the sites. I received word that Amazon had changed them, but they didn't, so off to work on that again. :) It's just like with writing...we have to use persistence!
Next, I'm working on putting The Shadow Elf and Lady Caroline and the Egotistical Earl into print, which is one reason I redid the covers also for those two books.
But for now, I'm off to work on Silence of the Wolf and marketing materials!
Have a super Sunday!!!

But it was Labor Day weekend after all, and I think it's deserved, don't you? Next, I'm going to work on Silence of the Wolf marketing materials. But you see, after I made the covers, I had to upload them to all the sales sites, and then I had to update my webpage. And then I had to update my blog. And then...well, did you ever read The Cat in the Hat's Spot book? Not sure what it was called, but it was about trying to clean one mess up and creating another, and another, and well, one spot led to a whole house full of spots. It's so very true, you see.
So I'm off to clean up all my spots...Have a super great Sunday! Hope yours is spot free!
